A Change of Era

2024.Page1.Banner.jpg
Are we living an era of change or a change of era? Population growth is peaking. Economic growth is peaking. Pollution and all kinds of waste accumulation keep growing. Human health is deteriorating. Biodiversity is declining. The biosphere is degrading. Anthropogenic climate change is no longer deniable, yet burning of fossil fuels keeps growing to meet the insatiable human demand for exosomatic energy, thereby exacerbating physical and social entropy worldwide. Millions dying in abject poverty. Massive migrations. Tribal scapegoating. Wars everywhere.
What next?

MARY,
UNTIER OF KNOTS,
PRAY FOR US

This edition includes several articles on critical issues of social and ecological justice, and links to significant recent publications and supplementary materials. The sequence of articles follows the see ~ judge ~ act pattern (with some overlaps). It is becoming increasingly clear that the forthcoming transition from growth to post-growth is not likely to be fair and peaceful if global population and consumption keep growing and the culture of power prevails. Can most humans adapt to supply constraints? Peacefully?
