Growth, Post-Growth, and Degrowth

2024.Page1.Banner.jpg

We have seen exponential growth of population and consumption since mid-20th century.
Can this keep going forever? No. What will happen after growth stagnates? Nobody knows.
The transition to post-growth may be precarious leveling while struggling to avoid collapse.
A more likely post-growth transition is one of descending population/consumption oscillations.
Humans will have to adapt by mitigating violence and fostering sustainable solidarity.
Else, wars will erupt everywhere and human flourishing will become unsustainable for most.
The only sensible path forward is to seek peace and solidarity in an integral global ecology.
