Gender Relations for an Integral Ecology

2024.Page1.Banner.jpg
"The environment, after all, is where we all meet, where we all have a mutual interest. It is one thing that all of us share. It is not only a mirror of ourselves, but a focusing lens on what we can become." (Lady Bird Johnson, 1912-2007) Patriarchy is to gender what whiteness is to race. But personal gender digs deeper than race, so patriarchy is even more ingrained than racism; yet it is crumbling — a sign of the times. After patriarchy: unity and mutuality of men and women for integral human development and an integral ecology. Consider this supplement:

Book Summary

Global Population, GDP, and CO2 Emissions

As long as human civilization keeps growing, carbon emissions keep growing
due to energy demand growing faster than reductions due to "green" techs.
The net reduction in the year 2020 can be attributed to the Covid slowdown.
Growth of emissions correlates with population growth and economic growth.
Why the growth frenzy? Human nature? Patriarchal culture? A mix of both?
Compare population growth in more developed and less developed countries.
Click the right arrow to see the trends unfolding since the Industrial Revolution.
Click on "Change country or region" to see national/regional emission trends.
Click on "Explore the data" for links to emission trends by source, sector, etc.
