For now the Blue Plant Club is simply a portal for those who have come to accept the apparent realities of our times, or The Human Predicament, as coined 50 years ago by the Club Of Rome.

The 1st Apparent Reality of interest is that human-activity (gross human population plus all the things we do) has surpassed the carrying-capacity of the biophysical resources of our planet. Studies by the Ecological Footprint organization indicate that we started deficit spending our biophysical resources in the first eight months of this year.

The 2nd Apparent Reality is that economic-growth has become an ideology. Our governments appear fixated on increasing the growth of dollar-throughput which in turn increases the spending of biophysical resources.

Today's governance systems have not evolved to use dynamic feedback that could limit the money supply in order reduce human-activity to the point where humanity could live within our planet's biophysical budget as assessed by scientific measurement.

Our young generation will inherit the future. They don't like what they see. A few years ago Gretta Thunburg, the Swedish high school student, gained significant media attention about these issues. The voice of the Extinction Rebellion organization states: "We are running out of time, and our governments have failed to act."

The Blue Planet Governance Model

Page 2 of the three-page web booklet, Blue Planet Governance, describes a Regional & Global governance model designed to regulate human-activity toward a sustainable state. In this model the world is divided into largely autonomous regions that support a global umbrella organization to deal with global issues. Page 2 has a list of definitions and many reference web links.

Club membership is open to anyone who prefers the proposed BPG Model, as compared to what exists today. Page 3 is where you can become a BPClub member. There is a separate membership category for the many Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that work diligently on various elements of The Human Predicament. As membership grows we will choose a team of leaders to consider next steps.

The links to join are on page 3 of the Blue Planet Club website.
